Batch Yield Source and Boundary Guide
Use this guide to prepare one same-unit, same-scope batch source packet before entering the Production Yield and Loss Planner.
Define one batch and process boundary
Record the batch or run identifier, product or SKU, facility or co-packer, production date, accountable owner, and stated review purpose. Identify where input enters and where saleable output is measured.

Use one common unit
Use one physical unit or preserve a documented conversion outside this guide. Do not silently compare pounds with cases, wet with dry, gross with net, or ingredient with finished-unit quantities.

Prepare recorded input sources
Review issue and consumption records, batch sheets, scale or meter records, returns to stock, transfers, and adjustments. Do not assume issued quantity equals consumed quantity.

Prepare saleable output sources
Review finished-production and packing records, scale or count basis, saleable quantity, held or quarantined output, samples, destroyed material, rework, work in process, and late postings.

Review expected transformation
Document evaporation, absorption, concentration or dilution, trimming, filtration, cooking, cooling, curing, fermentation, or other expected changes that affect comparability.

Separate rework, holds, and exclusions
State how carry-in or carry-out rework, recoverable material, quality holds, rejects, destruction, transfers, and output awaiting disposition are treated. Preserve unresolved status.

Reconcile the packet and hand off to the owner
Check dates, lots, units, boundaries, postings, transfers, returns, rework, holds, and adjustments. Enter only a reconciled same-unit, same-scope record in the Production Yield and Loss Planner.
